When someone is showing signs of dementia, it’s time to talk. Often, conversations with family about changing behaviors can be challenging and uncomfortable. This program provides tips for breaking the ice with your family so you can address some of the most common issues that are difficult to discuss: going to the doctor for a diagnosis or medical treatment, deciding when to stop driving, and making legal and financial plans for future care.

Caregiver Academy is the result of years of collaboration and resource sharing between LifeCare Memory Partners, the Alzheimer’s Association, and Cape Fear Area Agency on Aging. Our goal is to deliver immense value to caregivers of people living with Alzheimer’s Disease or other related dementias through evidence-based education and peer-to-peer support. By leveraging the collective strength of our three organizations, we are able to provide an incredible variety of educational offerings for every caregiver, regardless of where they are in their caregiving journey. We offer more than 25 unique education programs with many available on demand online.
