Frontotemporal dementia is a group of disorders that cause deterioration and shrinkage in the front and side lobes (regions) of the brain which control decision-making, thinking, and behavior.Although FTD is a disorder with characteristics in common, there are a number of variants that exist, presenting with unique symptoms, diagnosis information, and treatment plans.
