Support groups create a safe, confidential, supportive environment or community and a chance for participants to develop informal mutual support and social relationships. They also educate and inform participants about dementia and help participants develop methods and skills to solve problems.
Memory Makers provides educational, emotional, and social support to individuals living with early-stage memory loss and their family care partners.The group is a partnership and ishosted by Duke Dementia Family Support Program, with speakers from Duke, UNC and the Triangle professional community.The six-week group meets on Thursday afternoons and is offered in person in Durham in the spring, summer and fall.
