Support groups create a safe, confidential, supportive environment or community and a chance for participants to develop informal mutual support and social relationships. They also educate and inform participants about dementia and help participants develop methods and skills to solve problems.
Additional Information
Beginning January 2025 this groupwill meetmonthly on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month. Caregiver Support Groups are intended for the caregiver and not the person with dementia. To access the rear parking of the Del Mar Community Building, you need to go west on 9th St to Stratford (first stop sign) and turn left. You will drive down approximately 150 yds and there will be a driveway on your left (at the end of the Winston School parking lot and opposite Little Orphan Alley) that is identified with a large sign that reads "Del Mar Shores Park" and a smaller sign that reads "Del Mar Community Building.” Turn left at driveway and continue uphill on the driveway toward a grass field/ softball diamond. As you follow the driveway alongside the grass field, you will cross through a basketball court directly into a fenced parking lot - this is where you will park. There is a blue and green shaded cover in the parking lot.
